Mandela hoping Spice Girls will perform at his birthday bash
London, May 21: A million pounds each may not be enough to reunite the Spice Girls, but perhaps a request from former South African President Nelson Mandela might do the trick.
An insider revealed that Mr Mandela was hoping that the British all-girl might reunite and perform a one-off charity celebrity extravaganza for his birthday. "It would make Nelson's day if the girls performed," the Mirror quoted the source, as saying.
Special invitations have already been sent out to Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton to join Mr Mandela, the first black President of SA, on July 28 this year.
Mr Mandela, the first black President of South Africa, will be celebrating his 89th birthday this year. Invitations have also been sent out to Queen star Brian May, Annie Lennox and Peter Gabriel.
