Daniel Lanois And Tortoise Tour This Fall
Daniel Lanois has teamed up with Tortoise for a co-headlining and collaborative fall tour. The tour will feature Tortoise doing their own set as well as backing up Lanois' performance.
Lanois has produced a number of records, including discs for Brian Eno, U2, Dylan and Peter Gabriel. He has also established a musical career of his own. His new instrumental album, Belladonna, incorporates pedal steel guitar with ambient textures.
CMJ magazine called Belladonna, "An aural buzz of pedal steel guitar, dusty drum kits and layers upon layers of mood, mood, mood that reveal themselves after repeat listens."
Tortoise have released a number of albums over the past 10 years and set the standard for musicianship and creativity in the Chicago indie scene. The band's post-rock sound was described by Rolling Stone as, "Smart and original, playful and provocative — those are the standards Tortoise really aspire to, and that they achieve... as ingeniously as ever." Their new album is set for release this November and features Will Oldham.
