1988 Some 81,000 people jammed a stadium in Budapest for an Amnesty International concert featuring Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel and Sting. Gabriel spoke to the crowd in Hungarian, urging then-Communist Romania to respect the rights of ethnic Hungarians.
